About SUPPORT_ERS
The SUPPORT_ERS project contributes to the reduction of administrative barriers for the use of RES in the new EU member states and candidate countries, shows political decision makers in the new EU member states and candidate countries options to support RES-Heat, and increases the awareness of regional stakeholders for the benefits of RES.
The consortium consists of 12 partners. Ministries and national energy agencies with a direct link to RES policy processes form the core of the consortium. A network of municipalities and a European interest group are involved in order to ensure the link to the regional level and to the European RES industry.
SUPPORT_ERS helps to optimise support mechanisms to speed up RES market development and to intensify the cooperation among political decision makers and policy consultants in energy agencies to meet the ambitious RES targets of 2020.
The project started in November 2007 and the implementation period will end in May 2010.
SUPPORT_ERS Regional Training Seminars on Support Mechanisms for Renewable Energy Sources (RES) for Heating, Cooling and Electricity
SUPPORT_ERS has started its series of
six regional training seminars on support mechanisms for RES for heating, cooling and electricity to be held in Bucharest/Romania. Seminars in Slovakia, Estonia, Croatia, Poland and Bulgaria. During the one-day seminars, international RES experts will discuss best practice examples and RES support mechanism in different European countries. ´
In its aim to increase the awareness of regional stakeholders for the benefits of RES and to contribute to the reduction of administrative barriers, SUPPORT_ERS has evaluated RES support mechanisms and the market potential of renewable technologies for heating, cooling and electricity generation. SUPPORT_ERS recently published a report on “
Support Instruments for Heat Produced from Renewable Energy Sources”. It contains an up to date evaluation of policies to support heating with renewable energy in Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Germany, Latvia, Romania, Slovakia and Spain. The report compares and highlights different approaches in the implementation of support mechanisms. Furthermore, it contains policy recommendations on how to develop effective support instruments for RES in the new EU Member States and candidate countries.
A second publication focusing on the renewable energy sector is now available. The “Market Reviews on Renewable Energy Technology” describe the state of the art of renewable technologies in Europe and present key figures on the economic opportunities these technologies offer. Its structure ensures that the information on the renewable heating and cooling as well as electricity sectors is presented in a consistent way, focusing on the status of technology, costs and prices, market development as well as industry and employment.
Both reports and further information about the regional training seminars in participating countries are available on this homepage.
SUPPORT_ERS is an Intelligent Energy Europe project implemented from November 2007 until May 2010. It aims to achieve several important results:
- Detailed information on administrative barriers for RES in the new Member States and candidate countries involved in the consortium
- Checklist for institutions on how to reduce administrative barriers for RES incl. best-practices
- Recommendations to policy makers on options to support RES-H
- Regional RES training modules (incl. planning aspects) and six regional seminars in the new Member States and candidate countries.
Components
