Strengthening Support for Renewable Energy on the Regional Level
Objectives:
- To strengthen capacities of regional administrations and stakeholders to implement renewable energy source projects
- To develop training modules for renewable energy source
- To train regional administrations and stakeholders in selected pilot regions
- To provide external expertise and experiences from partner regions
- To establish partnerships and exchange of experiences between regions and communes in the partner countries and the enercites network
Outcomes:
- Training material/modules for regional administrations and stakeholders are developed by the project partners.
- 6 training seminars carried out on regional level involving regional administrative officials and other stakeholders.
- Partnerships between pilot regions and projects in the EU-10 partner countries and EU-15 regions and communes will be initiated.
Activities:
Regional decision makers and stakeholders are not always aware of potentials and benefits of renewable energy sources. SUPPORT_ERS integrates regions with high potential for the use of renewable energy sources in the project activities and develops a modular regional training programme. In six new member states and one candidate country SUPPORT ERS carries out pilot seminars based on the elaborated training modules. SUPPORT_ERS also supports the initiation of direct exchange with regions and municipalities from EU member states with lonstanding experiences in developing renewable energy sources on regional and local level.
